SERVICES NABERS Waste Rating
The NABERS Waste rating for offices measures two things: the amount of ‘materials generated’ (garbage, recyclables, re-use, etc) by a building and how much of that is diverted from landfill/disposal (percentage of total materials generated).
As with other NABERS ratings for offices, you can choose to rate a Base Building, an individual Tenancy or the Whole Building.
The rating is based on a simplified waste audit. Ten consecutive days are used to represent the behaviour of a building (and its occupants) throughout the year. This waste audit should not disrupt the habitual performance of an office. The results are then measured against the NABERS Waste benchmarks and your building is given a star rating that represents that level of performance.
Only NABERS Accredited Assessors are able to perform official ratings. These Assessors are skilled in the management and operation of buildings, and have expertise in energy and water efficiency, waste management or indoor environment quality. All Assessors have met strict selection criteria, attended a training session and passed an exam to gain accreditation.
